I don’t think it’s possible to be a child and not want an animal themed birthday at some point with some variance, but Chris and Martin Kratt top the theme category for sure! And it stirs up fond memories of watching Zobomafoo with the Kratt brothers when I was a child! So when our middle son requested a Wild Kratts birthday party and planned all the details (he even told me the exact placement of things on his cake as well as the icing design and loved every moment of the planning), I was thrilled!

For the food: he specifically wanted a grazing food area where everyone gathers to eat so we called it “gathering grounds” and included all the foods he wanted: tiger face cutie oranges, decorated cookies, grapes, little bananas (for Zobomafoo needs his snacks), animal cookies, pocky sticks (panda bamboo), popcorn (bunny tails), goldfish, pretzels (sticks for the beavers to eat), veggie sticks to feed the herbivores, donut holes (balls for the dolphins), and a Chris and Martin punch with mango boba.

For the decor: we have quite the collection of stuffed animals, so we had them scattered throughout all our party area! He wanted each table to be themed to certain animal groups. He chose ocean for one table with a dolphin, big cats (specifically cheetah and another cheetah for the food), and monkeys (of course we had to have a lemur). I decoupaged some power discs onto wood rounds I had and used those for decor pieces as well. Other items included: a balloon arch, backdrop (unfortunately the backdrop is no longer available on Amazon as of right now), plates, napkins , cake toy toppers and these toppers and cups (I really wanted these cups but they were not available). Finally, he requested “did you know” signs for the animals since they do that on the show, so I created those and put into little 5×7 acrylic stands.

For the favors: he wanted everyone to have a Wild Kratts power vest and power disc, so I made them for each of the kids out of black shirts, felt and spray fabric adhesive and then put them in an animal print box with binoculars. I also found Wild Kratts bubbles at Dollar Tree so I snagged those! I then made power discs by printing, laminating, cutting and putting velcro on the back to stick on their vests easily (you can purchase the party kit that includes these discs here). Finally, we had animal masks so they could pick through the disks and masks to play as different animals and they had an absolute blast on the bouncy house and tree house playing all sorts of animals!! It made for a laid back time for the parents too and not having to plan a lot of activities!

If you are planning a Wild Kratts party, I hope this one is able to inspire you and help you create your very own special Wild Kratts party as well! I try to give our kids more ownership of their parties as they get older and more invested in what they want. They get so excited and even more proud of their party, not because it’s about them, but because they helped to organize, plan, create and see all of their vision come to life. They get to learn skills in all sorts of ways including budgeting and creative thinking, problem solving, and learning to work with what you have to create something awesome!
